Inspiring young minds for Swansea University

Challenge :
To inspire the next generation of lawyers and policy-makers and raise awareness of the Hilary Rodham Clinton School of Law curriculum.

Process :
After an initial briefing, we used early rough sketches of the rich picture to quickly ‘talk-back’ the main points to check the accuracy in what is often a complex and sensitive subject. Important to the success was to find the right level of detail, where the role of critical friend was invaluable, pushing back against the tendency to add detail.

Solution :
This is a story about people. The rich picture uses the refugee family as the centrepiece around which all the other elements hang. Complex topics are broken down into ‘easy-speak’ for the young audience.

What the client said :

“Richard was fantastic to work with. He really understood the brief and quickly produced working sketches and an engaging storyboard. It was exciting to see the picture begin to emerge at such an early stage. He brought the topic to life using clever animation to tell the story being narrated. The finished piece was highly polished and Richard’s drawings matched our branding to give the animation the right feel. We are thrilled with the outcome!”
